History

Located in Plano, Texas, Don Trotter Heating & Air Conditioning was founded in 1970 as a family owned and operated business, and it remains that way today. For over 40 years, the father-son business has been servicing generations of families under the helm of co-owners Don Trotter and his son, Sean Trotter. In that time the three-employee shop has installed more than 3,000 Bryant home comfort systems in the North Dallas and Plano area.

At its inception, Don Trotter Heating & Air Conditioning was focused solely on new construction, working with custom home builders on HVAC installations. But in the 1980s, when the new construction market became less profitable for a small company, they turned their attention toward the service retrofit and replacement market. Now about 95 percent of the company's business is residential, with the rest as light commercial business. We are 100% percent NATE-Certified as technicians and installers, Healthy Air Specialist Certified and a Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer.

Here at Don Trotter Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. we strongly believe in educating our customers, whether it's on new products, refrigerants or SEER rating changes over the years. We help our customers understand what their choices are so we can help them "spend their money wisely". The basis of our entire philosophy is "we try and treat all of our customers like family".

Consistent with our mission to provide homeowners with high-quality comfort solutions we exclusively offer heating and air conditioning systems with tin-plated copper coils that prevent formicary corrosion due to regional weather conditions and indoor airborne contaminants of which are known to cause failure to indoor coils.

Recently, Bryant, one of the HVAC industry's leaders in providing home comfort solutions, has nominated Don Trotter Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. for two Bryant's "Dealer of the Year" Awards in 2006 & 2007. An annual designation that recognizes top dealers for improving their overall business practices and for excelling in the marketplace. Only 15 out of about 4,000 companies in the U.S. and Canada are chosen each year for this prestigious award.
