Wylie is a Dallas suburb located primarily in Collin County, Texas, and portions also extend into neighboring Rockwall and Dallas Counties. It is located about 20 miles from Dallas along State Route 78, and it is also conveniently located near Lake Ray Hubbard and Lavon Lake. This community was originally organized in the 1870s under the name of Nickelville, and it was home to the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railway. Wylie is part of a humid subtropical climate zone that is characterized by mild winters and hot, humid summers.

There are several attractions and areas of interest located in Wylie. The In Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center is a great place to check out unique and endangered animals, and golf lovers often enjoy playing a round at the Woodbridge Golf Club.
